Balance tops Keys’ 34-point effort
In a Howard County boys’ basketball thriller, Oakland Mills went on the road, Friday, and knocked off Wilde Lake, 69-65, in overtime.

The Scorpions scored just nine first quarter points and trailed by 11 at the first break. The lead was still 10 at the half, but Oakland Mills began to mount its comeback in the third quarter, pulling within four after three quarters, before gaining the overtime.

Mister Hairston scored 14 points to lead a balanced attack. Jordan Hopkins and Robert Burgess added 13 each and Daeshawn Eaton netted 12 points.

That balance was in contrast to the Wilde Lake lineup which was dominated by Trea Keys’ game-high 34 points. Marquis Bullett also added 15 points for the Wildecats.
