Robbins, Bennett and Hall lead seven returning starters; Team Preview
Severn reached the IAAM A Conference semifinals last spring, losing to Roland Park Country by a goal in overtime. The Admirals also gave perennial champion McDonogh a battle, tying the Eagles at the half of their contest, before falling.

The Admirals have lost eight seniors from a 2016 squad, including top scorer and draw control specialist, Maddie McDaniel. Although some holes need to be filled, the team will be fast and athletic with a strong defense anchored by a veteran goaltender.

“We return seven starters (including our goalie) and total of 14 varsity players,” said second year head coach Erin McCarthy.  “With the addition of six sophomores to our roster, we will be young, but incredibly fast and agile this season. To win in our league this season, we will need to capitalize on our speed in the midfield and the strength of our defense with veteran goalie, Zoe Bennett.”

Senior captains Brooke Robins, All Hall and Bennett will provide the leadership. Robbins is the club’s top returning scorer. The University of Maryland recruit led the Admirals with 79 points and was named an IAAM All-Star. Hall, who will play next year at Louisville, had 61 points and led the team with 42 ground balls. Bennett is committed to Drexel and plays with athleticism in and out of the goal.
