Saints are pitching rich; Team Preview
After dominating in the MIAA B Conference, the St. Mary’s baseball team made the leap to the MIAA A Conference last spring.

The Saints qualified for the post-season and certainly proved the could compete, posting a 7-11 mark in the conference.

“We will look to pitch well, and play solid defense,” said coach Johnny Poss. “Hopefully, we will use our athleticism on offense to produce runs.”

Junior right-handed pitcher Stephen Pelli should be one of the top starting pitchers in the area. He is committed to Virginia Tech.

Three other Saints, junior shortstop Nick Hopkins (LaSalle), junior centerfielder/pitcher Brandon Cook (Towson) and freshman catcher Clay Wargo (Coastal Carolina) have already made Division 1 commitments, and junior pitcher/firstbaseman Colin Taeschner has several D1 offers.
