With six starters back from last year’s MIAA A finalist, the Greyhounds are a legit title contender; Team Preview
The Gilman baseball team surprised many last spring by making late-season charge to qualify for the MIAA A Conference playoffs and then playing its way into the finals where if forced three-time defending champion Archbishop Spalding to an “if” game in the double-elimination tournament.

In 2017, the Greyhounds return six starters including junior Max Costes. Costes, a third-baseman and pitcher, was an All-MIAA A Conference pick last year and he is a pre-season Al-State selection in 2017. A premiere power-hitter, Costes has already committed to play his college baseball at the University of Maryland.

Senior Drew Ehrlich, a catcher and pitcher, is a clutch hitter and excellent defensive receiver, who provides fire and leadership for the Greyhounds.

Also back for Gilman are senior shortstop Charlie Darby, junior outfield/pitcher Michael Willis, sophomore second-baseman Pierce Bennett and junior outfielder/DH Alex Slodzinski.
