Glenelg Country girls continue to streak

No. 13 Dragons edge No. 12 SPSG for their 21st straight win
In a contest that was tight every step of the way, the Glenelg Country girls lacrosse team continued to impress as the Dragons edged No. 12 St. Paul’s School for Girls, 13-12, in their IAAM A Conference debut.

No. 13 Glenelg Country (3-0 overall) won for the 21st consecutive time, dating back to 2015.

Shay Ahearn had four goals and two assists to pace the Dragons and Hannah Glaros had a hat-trick. Sarh Ayer and Alli Bateman each netted two goals and Lindsey Marshall and Julia Sheehan had one each.

SPSG’s Ashlyn McGovern matched Ahearn’s four goals and had an assist, while Reid Sheehan scored three goals and Ally Pino had two for the Gators. Pino also had three assists.

At the half, SPSG led by one, at 8-7, before the Dragons pushed in front in the second half.
