Taylor Abshagen and freshman Maddie Penta combined on a three-hitter as No. 2 Bohemia Manor High rallied for a 5-1 victory over slumping and ninth-ranked C. Milton Wright, 5-1, in an UCBAC Chesapeake softball contest Monday in Harford County.
The Eagles (6-0 overall) broke a 1-1 deadlock, scoring four runs in the sixth to remain undefeated in Chesapeake play (5-0). C. Milton Wright, which moved to No. 1 in last week’s VSN Top 20 poll, lost its fourth straight game.
The Bel Air school scored first on Cassidy Cochran’s RBI single in the home first. The Mustangs managed two hits off Abshagen, who was replaced Penta in the fifth. Penta recorded the save, allowing a hit and a walk in two innings.
Mustangs pitcher Katie Murphy held Bohemia Manor hitless through the first four innings, but ended up taking the loss.
