Boys’ Latin sinks Severn in first-place battle

Purnell and Washington combine for six hits
Offense was the name of the game, Tuesday, as the the Boys’ Latin baseball team sunk the Severn Admirals, 12-2, in a battle for first-place in the MIAA B Conference baseball standings.

Matt Purnell got things rolling for BL (8-4, 5-1 MIAA B) with a key two-out bases loaded double in the third inning, and Marquise Washington's double in the same frame plated a pair. Purnell and Washington each went 3-for-4.

Alex Rozner provided the Severn (7-4, 3-2 MIAA B) offense, going 2-for-3  with a home run, a walk and a stolen base.

Ned Ruffin went the distance to get the win for BL, giving up six hits and striking out five.
