Frederick school claims 37-34 non-league win
Wilde Lake of Howard County fell short in Thursday night's dual meet with visiting Tuscarora of Frederick County, 37-34, despite pins by fourth-place finisher and county champion Malik Jackson (145), former junior varsity county title-winner Noah Polonsky (113), and a 58-second fall by Ethan Eckley (120).
Although Wilde Lake's Daniel Andrews (132) earned a major decision, the Titans overcame forfeits to the Wildecats' unbeaten third-place state finisher Tola Morakinyo (170) and Ne'co Jones (285) with the help of pins by Kevin Arguera (160), Billy Mills (182) and Jacob Fazio (220).
In addition, the Titans received a major decision by Chase Damaeille (138) as well as pivotal decisions -- all by four points or less -- from Mark Gugliemini (126), Austin Gentel (152) and Brennan Stup (195).
